1. What has been the most significant moment in your musical career so far?
“The most significant moment in my career was when I discovered that my music was not only appreciated by me but also by others. I have always created music for personal pleasure and to explore sound technologies. The realization that other people appreciated my work was a great satisfaction and gave a deeper meaning to what I was doing, pushing me to publish some of the tracks I produce.
2. How would you describe your musical style and what are your main influences?
“My musical style is an eclectic mix of various genres. I have many influences, although I would like to predominantly categorize it as Disco. I like to mix different styles and capture the peculiarities of different cultures. My influences range from electronic to traditional music, with a particular focus on the fusion of different sounds and rhythms, and they are constantly evolving thanks to interpersonal relationships and the technologies I come across.”
3. What was the inspiration behind your first musical project ‘Sand in my shoes’?
“The inspiration for ‘Sand in my Shoes’ came from a moment shared with several people who marked the early stages of my career. We discussed the desire to cross the ocean. The sand in our shoes represented what would happen once we arrived: a sensation that was both annoying and liberating, offering a connection with the land and a sense of unity with the surrounding environment. I remember Sam Perez talking about his origins, being far from home. At that time, we were a team of people, some fleeing from war, others running away from home, professionals and non-professionals. We all gathered in an industrial area on the outskirts where we had a base camp, with various recording studios and private creative rooms. Sam had a record store selling vinyl during the day, and I, when I wasn’t repairing computers, would go there on my scooter to look for imported records and share the music I made. I remember Yoshitoshi Recording was across the ocean, in New York, and was an important reference point for all of us. We spent our evenings listening to vinyl records.”
4. What drives you to continue creating and innovating in your music?
“Creating music is my way of escaping reality; it’s always been like that for me, the underground scene. It’s a sort of imaginary beach, as I said, where I can hide from my nerdy self, where I can freely express my emotions without being judged. Unfortunately, the underground scene has become a fashionable place where everyone wants to be. I believe it has become populated by the mainstream from which I wanted to escape. I see the scene remixed thousands of times; probably the values we shared are somewhere, remixed as well. Innovating, for me, is capturing those gaps and filling them with the emotion of the moment, in total connection with people, in a dimension where past and future blend in a mix of sounds.”
5. What are your upcoming projects, and what should we expect from the future?
“I expect an increasingly connected world, with a broader and faster cultural exchange. In my upcoming projects, I want to continue exploring this global connection, creating music that unites different cultures and influences, carrying forward a spirit of innovation and exchange.”
6. How would you describe the relationship between creativity and technology in your music, and how do you think it influences the way your music is received by the audience?
“Technology, including artificial intelligence, has a significant impact on the creative process. It allows me to explore new sounds and experiment in ways that were not possible before. I believe that artificial intelligence will have a positive impact, continuing to transform the way and the tools with which we make music, and not only. Surely it will do this by opening new frontiers for creativity and knowledge.”
7. Can you tell us about your work experience with internationally renowned artists like Guy J and Solomun?
“Collaborating with Guy J was unexpected. Paolo and I wanted to contribute again to the progressive music scene after dedicating time to other projects. I simply wanted to return to the origins and do something unusual underground. A prestigious label full of renowned artists like Lost & Found. Guy J did an extraordinary job, embodying the progressive music scene and combining emotion and quality in a unique journey from a chart position. Collaborating with him allowed us to reintroduce sounds we felt in the past, using current context tools.
Equally, with Solomun in the European music scene was an exceptional experience. His vision and contribution to the music scene expanded my opportunities, pushing me to be more creative and cross-over. I had the opportunity to follow him to some festivals while he played, and whether you like it or not, his ever-evolving musical repertoire was decisive in confronting me musically and pushing me to share the productions I was working on.”
8. How would you describe your creative process when producing music?
“It’s very intimate and personal, with few people involved. Every phase of creation is a unique journey that converts different moods into music. To date, I have a studio located in the WWF park, and in a sense, I believe this reflects what I represent. For me, a record is like a loop of days that repeat with small differences and sometimes big changes, a process that completes beat by beat.”
9. How have you developed your distinctive musical style over the years?
“Beautiful question! I have tried to study and analyze my musical journey to understand how I unconsciously developed certain musical styles. It has been a process of continuous learning, discovering that I was influenced by various musical contaminations and cultures that I did not know and represented. Every personal experience and collaboration has contributed to knowing myself better and shaping my sound to make it distinctive.”
10. How do you evaluate the impact that Backstage has had on the music scene so far, and what are the future prospects for this collaboration?
“Backstage has certainly had a significant impact on the music scene, offering tools and opportunities that allow artists to innovate and grow outside the classic platforms. The future prospects are promising; NFTs and cryptocurrency are revolutionizing many markets, including music. A future that becomes present through a more equitable redistribution technology, a topic that in this continuum of technological development is transforming all markets.”
11. What are Backstage’s main strengths, and how do you think they can contribute to the growth and success of the artists who collaborate with them?
“Backstage offers a network of connections, collaborations, and advanced resources. Its strengths include innovative equity redistribution tools and networking opportunities,
important factors that allow artists to grow and develop their projects more securely, autonomously, and creatively.”
12. Are you more Night or Day?
“Both, and sometimes they are not long enough to start over again!”

There’s something inherently different about Keinemusik. More than a collective, it’s a creative universe that turns the dancefloor into a cultural space where music, aesthetics and community coexist. The name: an anecdote turned manifestoThe name — literally meaning “no music” — comes from a story often told around the collective: the mother of one of the founders, commonly associated with Rampa, reportedly joked “keine Musik” when asked what kind of music her son made. That phrase evolved into a statement of artistic freedom and a rejection...
